Im thinking of going over next year, just looking for a few tips or pointers as to where to go/ stay, as well as viewing points if possible. Also is it a week long event, or over a few days?
    Thanks for any help

It works much the same as the TT with practice week & race week. Practice starts 20th August and first race is Saturday 27th August. The Classic TT is all the big names but their races are finished and they are all nearly all gone by the Wednesday. Then true Manx GP racers race the rest of the week. A lot of people go Friday to Wed/Thursday, noticeably quieter as the race week ends.

Where to watch? What do you want to see/experience? How fast they go? Sulby straight or over the mountain. To see the whites of their eyes? The Gooseneck.

Where to stay? Camp, B&B, Homestay, rent a cottage/apartment etc. Douglas is busy & livelier, other places cheaper and quieter.

Need to look at both sites really.

BUT - if you are going book your ferry as soon as you can and sort accommodation. We struggled to get ferries when we wanted them this year.

    Hope that helps a bit.

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others bright, some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box.”

I have ridden that area many times, even when the classic TT was on. The nearest place was called Gedeine (or similar spelling). We didn't go to the TT though as the riding was more fun.

"thought you meant the Classic TT in Belgium"

Are you talking IOM or Belgium Classic TT?
