I'm getting annoyed with cleaning my bike every 5 minutes. Was literally cleaning it at 10:45 Friday night as got caught behind a gritter haha.

Any suggestions of a decent bike? Looking at a bandit 600 or yam xj600. Seems to be a few for around the 600 quid mark. Want to spend as little as possible as will literally be used to commute.
I don't even ride with stabilisers. And what?

Very sensible, I did feel guilty about dragging you and your Harley around the back lanes the other week, what about one of these?

One of the ugliest bikes ever made (IMO) but bullet proof, decent performance, handling & braking and always low money - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-GSX...item3cede5f16c

or the ultimate cheap hack, and it a twin ; ) - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GS5...item3ced2c5cc6

or the oddball suggestion - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/skyteam-v-...item3a9d18a94a

Better not take any of those for your first patch club meeting, don't want you black balled before you start ; )

Not letting me down, as I said, I'm not really a group ride out person so easy come easy go for me. Having said that, it looks like I'll out with Chris & Tony this weekend if they find their way over to the New Forest.

Be good to catch up after Christmas, cheers - Trev

You could find an older D model ZZR for that money.

    D model
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/kawasaki-z...item43d383af2d

    Or E model
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1995-KAWAS...item5415a00d92

More grins than a GS500 which I promise you is a bike that will make you want to claw your eyeballs out and hack off your throttle hand with a spoon.

Trophy in 900 or 1200 (I had a 1999 1200). Big fairing, big panniers and painted tough engine coating. I used it all year round and looked as good when I sold it as when I bought it.

You won't get much Bandit for £500 maybe a really shagged early one. If you try to buy a bike in demand with a shoestring budget you will buy a bag of problems, better off looking at stuff that gets overlooked.

Some stuff that's not the arse end of Scotland (far end of jockland bargain bikes, owner "works on the rigs" are a common scam btw so be careful).

GSX750f (think this same as Trev posted)
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-GSX...item3cede5f16c

FZR600 (needs some work but is cheap as chips_
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZR...item3399506616

GSX600F (some idiot tried to streetfighter it, runs though and original fairings could be found on eBay to return to original)
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-G-Suz...item1e9586ec9b

CBR600F (had a hell of a lot of work done, auction may run beyond your budget)
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBR6...item3a9cd45550

KLE500 (Has MOT but needs new rear shock, good winter bike)
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FAR-TOO-GO...item462bbe476f

CB-1 NC27 (You may get lucky on auction, 400cc naked screamer with the gear driven cams like the nc23 uses)
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CB-1...item4ae10787e2

VFR400 NC21 (another naked 400, this one uses the v4 engine)

What makes you say that? I loved mine. Ran it through two winters, snow, ice everything. Air cooled so no hassle, no fairing to scuff if you drop it, great on fuel and will still run over a ton.
