...and another this morning on the A4 between Chippenham and Calne by the Saab garage in rush hour. Ended up with the bike being squashed between the back of one car and the front of another

What's going on? It's tricky to say who is to blame as sometimes its down to bad riding or bad driving... we've had wet roads for ages, might be sun low in the sky or just a bad average.

Unfortunately the guy that got air-lifted to hospital in Bristol didn't make it and passed away late last night. He worked at the same place as me, the other drivers involved also work here...

    Sad news RIP

IMO The state of the roads is a big contributor to accidents. That particular piece of road is in a terrible condition.
The people in charge of the highways should be hung

Yea, I ride very slowly not for safety just that the kit is so bloody expensive if you bend it !
Counting down until my next ride out!

We came across a smack on the Locking Road into Weston today.

The rider suffered only a broken ankle but judging by the mess his bike was in was a very lucky boy.
    Everything else is shyte

With so many potholes it's easy to concentrate more on the road surface than the other road users :/

Well, Last Train, this is good news indeed. I'm lad to hear the rider came off lightly .... bikes are replaceable, but alas, bikers aren't. Richard
PS I wish him a speedy recovery ...
