Anybody planning on watching the 2014 Dakar Rally?
It takes place between 05 - 18th January, and covers Argentina, Bolivia and Chile.
Theres 4 main competitor types: Bike, Quad, Car and Truck. The bike manufacturers include Yamaha, KTM, Honda, Kawasaki, BMW, Suzuki, Speedbrain, Beta, GAS, Sherco and Husqvarna.
A KTM has finished first in the bike category every year since 2001.
I've never actually watched any coverage of a Dakar rally whilst its on, but I always read up on them afterwards to find out what happened along the way etc. However, this year I'd like to watch it as it happens. I'm struggling to find coverage of it on UK TV, does anybody know where I can watch? If not, I'll probably end up on the Dakar website (http://www.dakar.com/index_DAKus.html) each day, where I think they'll be posting short videos about the days events.
It always sounds really interesting, and some of the photos I've seen from previous years look incredible, so I'm looking forward to actually following the race events a bit more closely this year.
