Can anyone recommend a good digital compact camera for me please??
I'm looking for something I can take on rideouts etc
I don't need GPS or Wi-Fi just something that takes good pictures, fits in my pocket, easy to use and is good on batteries etc
Looking to spend up to £100 ish.

    Thanks

I've been looking into this too - have decided on the panasonic sz3 which is about £95 everywhere (jessops, amazon, currys, etc)

Reason I've chosen that one is that optical zoom is what makes the difference (digital zoon just invents pixels when you zoom in), and this one has 10x optical which is high for that price bracket. Also has a nice big screen on the back

    Can't go wrong with a lumix/Panasonic.
    It's all about the lens.
Forget all the extra features, you'll never use them.
Mine takes 3D pics (whatever that is, rapid shot, stitches pics together and I've never used any of it.

I used to sell cameras and high level photographics.
    (Lenses at £1200 each)
WB is correct - go for the best quality lens you can get and the panasonic would be a good one!

I was looking at the Panasonic Lumix DMC XS1 which is £80 but that doesn't have a Leica lens

    That surprised me

Zoom isn't as good but you can always move closer

the only downside is the battery life using AA's is a pain try and get a rechargeable, I use a Panasonic but a old G1 and you've seen what I can do its a 4 thirds so still compact.
but what do I know about bike photography
if it moves shoot it with a camera

My Panasonic SZ3 developed a fault. The viewfinder screen on the back started going green and purple so I took it back to currys, surprisingly the staff were really helpful and changed it for me but before I left I tested the new one, same problem but even worst, as they had exchanged my camera they wouldn't give me my old one back but told me to go to the other currys in Bath where they had 5 in stock and it wouldn't be a problem, so that's where I went. This time I got some arsehole that tested another one which had the same fault and then told me it was just how they are which is bull**** as mine was perfect before.

I'm going to try currys in trowvegas tomorrow and see what the monkeys in there say

So now I have a camera that isn't right. Currys will change it for a different camera but after doing all my research I can't find anything I'd rather have for the same money. Bored of reading camera reviews

For another £35 I can have this SONY Cyber-shot DSC-WX80

Or for another £65 this http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/cameras...22534-pdt.html

Oh yea this one looks good for only another £5

    What would you do???
