The opposite can be true, those of us who weren't aware of it are travelling too fast to notice.... as we're concentrating on the road ahead and the traffic behind, not other bikes going in the opposite direction.....

Have seen it used, but flashing headlights seems to be the more comon one...

... don't tend to go fast enough to worry though.

If you need to worry about the traffic behind you then you are not going fast enough.
