Hi all, I came here from another place and thanks to Stu for the link.

I'm an old git of 55 and ride a Suzuki AN400 Maxi Scooter. I use it for pleasure as I'm retired due to poor health. I also use it two or three times a year to return "home" to Cornwall to see friends and family. We moved to Melksham in August 2006 and love it here.

    Well that's about all really.

    Bob.

    Thanks Davey.

I guess I ought to say that I grew up in the 60s when bikers and scooter riders didn't really mix well. It wasn't until 1979 that I got my first bike, a 3 speed Vespa 90 to get to work on while my missus and the newborn had the car. I sold that PDQ and got an MZ 250T which I parted company with in December 1981 on a corner in Falmouth. I didn't ride for another 22 years.

It was 2003 when we decided that two methods of transport were required and a second car was out of the question. I did my CBT in December 2003 and bought a Honda Dylan scoot and passed my Auto only test in 2005 and bought a Piaggio X9 250. I had that until September 2005 when I traded it in for the 400cc Burgman. I now have my sights on the 650 Burgman or possibly the new 850cc Gilera GP800.

Why a scooter you might ask, well for a start I like them and another reason is that my left knee is decidedly wonky due partly due to parting the the MZ mentioned earlier and arthritis.

I've also had a couple of heart attacks and probably couldn't stand the excitement that a super bike would bring.

Riding a fully automatic scooter means I get to stay on two wheels and I'm loving it.

Do you mean the the DN-01

680 V Twin 60HP. I wouldn't refuse one as a present. It's an auto so OK for my license.

Doesn't have the same weather protection as a Scooter. I see it appealing to a certain type of person but I wouldn't call it a bikers bike and at £9,000 it's well out of my price range.
