    timing belt is only used on Rotax and ducati tractors.... ;-)
    timing isnt adjustable unless you have a PC3R with the ability to change the timing......

    One of several things.

    Could be fouling on the plugs, stale fuel or dicky carbs if you haven't used it for a bit. Give it a good run and it'll clear.

    Coud be a sticking choke. Either butterflies or cable. Lastly it could be a vac leak fron either the carbs or the inlet rubbers.

    I would be guessing at this stage but if you are in 1st gear with the clutch pulled in it's probably your timing - I am guessing that it starts first time after it's stalled? when were the plugs last changed and the timing belt? they would be my first bet.

    Also when its ticking over what rpm are you getting?

    Sounds almost exactly the symptoms to me. I will check the tickover next time I get the bike out cos I'm off to Glastonbury for the weekend :-)
