Chain slack

My R6 is 6 months old and after looking in the book should be about 30mm to 45mm, with a tape messure i pusshed the chain to the swingarm and the let go the slack was 35mm is the the best way to check the slack of the chain

With the bike on the stand the chain should have a maximum of 45mm movement up from the slackest point.

Don't forget most bikes will tighten it when doing up the spindle, check it again after.

Just to add: ALL CHAINS HAVE A TIGHT SPOT. I always make sure I have at least 1" of movement at the tight spot otherwise you will put too much pressure on the chain when riding.
In your manual it will tell you the maximum 'stretch' allowed for the chain e.g. 300mm over 20 links. A new bike like yours should be fine but check as it gets older. If it exceeds it then best to get a new chain and sprockets.
