Related to my gearbox fix thread, I am having troubles removing the carbs.

Is it "ok" to remove the engine leaving the carbs on, from the guide I am reading it states keep the carbs upright etc to avoid spilling.

Would any damage be caused if I left them on when removing engine? Many thanks.

I never remove the carbs before the engine. As long as there is space to get it out with them on. I think these "guides" need to be squeaky clean and dont want you spilling flammable liquid all over the place. You cant do any harm mate. Gently does it!

I always find the best way to remove carbs is to stop eating pasta, potatoes and rice

    Just leave the carbs on.

I'd only worry about spilling fuel on the paint, but if you do, just wipe it off quickly and there will be no harm done.

The less you can disturb carbs the better I think .. if there's space to remove the engine with them in place then go for it.

If possible start engine and remove fuel supply - it will drain fuel and problem solved.
Most if not all carbs can be drained - small screw on the bottom of each

You should not store carbs upside down!!!
