I've noticed that my brake fluid reservoir is low but still quite clear.
Is it OK to top up or better to replace the fluid ?

Before topping it up (which is perfectly ok btw), check your brake pads. You haven't lost any fluid, the level has dropped as the pads wear, and a low level should be seen as an indicator that they have worn. Were you to fill it right up as it currently is, when you replace the pads and push the pistons back into the callipers the reservoir will overflow as there'll be too much fluid in the system. Make sense? :-?

Must admit not checked the padsThe Bike has only done just under 4k & its 11 plate, Pads look Ok shall have a good look at the weekend.

As scotty says. Usually indicates brake pad wear.

Check it with the bike upright and the handlebars in the straight ahead position ( as if on a workshop bench)too and you will prob see the level

When your brake fluid turns a dark browny yellow that's when you need to change it! Believe me, to have a Hayabusa run out of brakes on a Castle Combe track day is no laughing matter. The brake fluid boiled cos of the water content which turns the fluid dark.
