Keep the conversation light and don't make any rash statements e.g. religion sucks, the war is a good thing etc. Humour can work but again until you know her better you might end up offending her.
Like everyone else said listen to what she is saying. You can then ask her questions when if you get the awkward silence.
If you do take kevin's advice tread very carefully you might come across as cheesy or worse a bit of a sexist. Hold the door and take her coat but don't make a big display of it. The first date is about gaining respect and don't forget she will be as nervous as you!
