Sad day indeed.Had over 800 flights on the Hercs,Britannias and Comet 4s' in the 70s'. I cherish those memories when life seemed simpler, safer and less hectic!

One of my favorite photos. Taken through the front screen of my 1971 Mini whilst on the classic car parade down the flight line at Kemble a couple of years back. I had asked one of the Kiwi crewmen there with their Hercs to take me a photo - he pretended to and handed back my camera so I snook this shot

'kin eck. I know they were saying we were due water shortages this summer, but does Wiltshire really look that bad from the air?

I'm Lyneham based and I'm sad to say goodbye to the place that has made Wiltshire my home for so many wonderful years.

If it wasn't for the place, I'd have probably never been a member on this forum or have met so many wonderful people like I have over the past year or so.

It would have been a long drive to Brize for me if I hadn't found myself another job
