He wasn't the greatest driver of all time but he was the most exciting to watch. I was lucky enough to see him race 3 times. He even walked pass me at silverstone.

What is rarely reported is the massive amount he did for charity, especially for the homeless children in Brazil.

I've not seen the film yet but thanks for the heads up. Bring back the 1.5l turbos!

Then a few people would be wrong. ;D
I saw him win at Donnington in the wet and it was a masterclass in driving.
He had completely the wrong temperament to be considered the greatest ever. He was naturally gifted but was impatient and difficult to work with, bordering on dangerous.
It's all very well people looking back with rose tinted glasses, talking about what a character he was, but they weren't saying that when he shunted them off the track.

It's nigh-on impossible to compare racers from different generations, but the drivers I have most respect for are people like Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart.
They had focus but also respected their fellow racers.
Schumacher had the same focus but he was also a master of tactics. It's a shame he never really had a major rival during his heyday in the way that the other greats did.

Juan Manuel Fangio. The greatest driver ever. No contest.
