Antonio Horta-Osorio, chief executive of Lloyds Banking Group, has said today he will not take an annual bonus for 2011.

He has just returned from a two month absence due to fatigue and acknowledged that had had an "impact" on the bank.
    I can’t argue with that Antonio - Shares in Lloyds - which is 41% state-owned - fell more than 60% in 2011.

His basic pay is £1.06m a year, and he would have been eligible for bonus payments of up to 225% of that.

Credit where credit is due (excuse the pun). I know times are hard and “We are all in this together,” but I’m too selfish to make a generous sacrifice of a 225% pay cut like Antonio. :P

Sorry in advance - I just couldn't resist it.

He forfeited his £2.4 million bonus for 2011 saying, 'I want to share the pain of ordinary people'

So I've sent my wife to live with him for 2 weeks as well. ;D

    I could do his job.
I will do it for a quarter of what he is on - and also I won't take a couple of months on 'the sick'
(I've only ever had 3 days off in 28 years of work) and that was for a really bad case of flu in 1997!

Antonio is a mere pauper compared to this bloke - Barclays boss Bob Diamond could receive a £10 million payout in the forthcoming bonus season, according to reports.

The Barclays chief executive - who was once dubbed the unacceptable face of banking by former business secretary Lord Mandelson - could receive a share award worth as much as seven-and-a-half times his £1.3 million salary, the Sunday Times said. >
