I don’t think the media commentators reporting on the latest episode of the Downing Street versus The Metropolitan Police ‘plebgate’ soap-opera get it. :-?

It’s not about who ‘joe public’ trusts the most, the police or the politicians, but more of a case of who they trust the least. :-/

I don't trust either of them

    **Edit**
The reason I don't trust the police, they work for the politicians :-?

The Met said: "The allegation that a serving police officer fabricated evidence is extremely serious. It goes to the very heart of the public's trust in the police service."

I think the police officer in charge of the original investigation into his fellow officers’ allegations against Andrew Mitchell (which resulted in his resignation) has some serious questions to answer.

Why didn’t he seek verification of the identity of one of the key witnesses in this pitiful fiasco? Why wasn’t he/she who claimed to be a member of the public stating that he/she overheard Mitchell use the word ‘pleb’ called in to the station for an interview?

Was this a payback stitch-up over government cuts in police pay and conditions???

I was led to believe that a serving police officer impersonating a member of the public was committing a serious offence? :P
