If you got the r1 AND kept the r6 which would you use more?

IF its the r1 BUT you would still use the r6 then go for it, but if its the r6 and only use the r1 when its a special day (track day, special runs, poseing! etc) then think about it seriously!

Personally I'd say F*ck it and have both and put the one I was going to use least on a special reduced mileage insurance and get that £250 bill down further!

    Hope that helps!

Wish I had to make the choice!

with 2 bikes you'd probably find yourself neglecting one as you ride the other more often...I'd say keep to just the one

If you can afford to run both, and you do track days, turn the R6 into a track bike and buy the R1 to use on the road. But if only one, then it all depends on your style of riding......If you're a revver, keep the 6,if you're lazy (like me!) Buy the 1 and ride the torque!

    agreed

the cost of tracking an R6, including spares and performance parts, is cheap as chips

Keep the R6, declare it SORN, keep its V5 so it can go back on the road if and when you decide to sell it, track it, and buy the R1 for the road.

    Job done!!

i can afford to run both so thats not an issue, thing is the 6 is a minter with 10k from new, too good to turn into a track bike. plus i've got my r6 plate on it that would look outta place on an r1.
just been offered a 99 r1 for £2850 with loads trick bits on it.

to be honest, having 2 road bikes is a waste of good bikes...........and money.

get the R1, after a couple of months riding see which of the bikes you prefer on the road, then a decision as to what to do should be a lot easier.

and btw, no bike is too good to track lol
