you'd have thought a bunch of adults could cohabit an internet forum successfully....heaven knows how our peugeot forums with over 4000 members manages to exist despite the "106s are ****" "no, 206s are gay" comments

It isn't all down to the kwak/gixer comments, it's down to peoples attitudes and the way they seem to feel they can talk to others.

To be honest, I can't blame the latest lot of people for leaving, it's become unfriendly and unwelcoming, I'm surprised newbies want to join and post what with things that are said/going on.

I bet at the end of the day the kwak v Gixer bods will still nod at each other on the road when passing.

I'm on the ZX-9r Forum and there is always banter over which one is faster.

    Here, here!!
I know Ive been SERIOUSLY thinking of leaving for a while now but I havent as I have been talked out of it by various people who Ive become good mates with!
I dont know how many of you saw Skyjawas leaving shot but he had a very serious (if bitchy) point to make!!

BBs accident has proven to me WE CAN BE A DECENT BUNCH and its nice to see hand bags put down so some real love can be sent out to a mate. Lets keep that spirt going and ditch the bitchyness - Its NOT all Gixer vs Kwaka either! Jibes get personal VERY quickly!

For F*CK sake, we are here to meet like minded people AND HAVE FUN!!!

I'm here to have 'discussion' with like minded people. Humorous, Spirited, Serious.....whatever, but its all good. If I don't like it, I igonor it. No ones forcing anyone to comment. I hate things being 'pink and fluffy'. It can't be wrapped in cotton wool, life doesn't work like that, confrontation is just one part of it.

A forum lives on banter. Without banter any forum would be worthless.

Agreed it might seem to folks that the old kwak versus suzuki 'discussions' get out of hand but in all honesty I don't think they have. I'm usually in the middle of any of the said discussions and I just laugh it off. Give as good as you get me mutha always used to tell me.

As has been said before on this thread...................whatever forum you are on.........whether its bikes, cars, cake making, topary.........there is an edge of competition between the peeps involved but its all harmless. At the minute there is a bit of a rivalry between the different model owners of ZX6r's on the ninja forum.............who's is the best yadda yadda yadda. People who don't want to get involved don't get involved. It's as simple as that.

Everyone on this forum has something to offer everyone else in one way or another, whether it be riding skills, bike maintenance, organizing events, computers, cars etc etc. Please don't think that you are not involved because you are, that's the whole ethos of WB which Dabz and Mac based the forum on. Plenty of people to help you whatever the problem is.

But, it's a public forum...........we can't make people join and we can't make people stay. Its all about personal decisions at the end of the day. If you think you are being personally attacked or feel that a certain post is unacceptable inform the mods or management geeks. That is what they are there for.

With this site being relatively small at the moment, people are going to notice other people's post more often. There's no getting away from that. There is no one on this site who i wouldn't sit down with, talk bikes and have a pint with (maybe Blue though if he starts with his jokes ). There aren't any bad apples, just different people with different opinions with different ways of putting across their thoughts. I think we all like to have a laugh but without knowing someone well it is sometimes quite hard to put across humour via chat boards, it's a fact that the more you can understand/know a person, the more you understand their humour.

So whats the answer? Well............there isn't a specific answer but there are ways to help. One is to meet up more often.........not necessarily on a rideout but in a 'meet' situation ie pubs where people can chat. I think that the old WB get together which happened for a couple of months should be restarted............what did happen to that anyway? If you find yourself raging at a post by someone, try not to instantly react to it as you may have read it in the wrong way. Either laugh it off, choose to ignore and/or report it to the mods/management for them to deal with.

So lets all chill out............have a group hug..........and stop with all the sniping
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

ANYWAY! Back to suggestions! How's about this one! I used to be a member on the Ford Escort (yeah, ok bring it on! ) Owners Club UK at www.feoc-uk.com. They have a forum which anybody can join, but if you decide, you can join the full membership to the club at £20 per year! That gave you a further 2 areas in the forum, one of which was the Local Meets area. Clever, because, most people want to meet other owners so many paid and joined up for that alone! Also in the £20 join up you got sent a pack with car stickers and pens etc etc in it! Wohoo! But good for raising awareness of the forum.

Anyway, could that be used here perhaps, that would allow people to use the forum, but also encourage a 'club' membership scheme to help finance the forum too! Probably a lot of work to set up but could be worth it.
