Can anyone suggest a way for me to get more grip on my bike seat....

Basically I bought some new leathers and now whenever I brake or accellorate hard I find myself sliding forward (nuts into the petrol tank ouch :-[ ) or backwards into the wife who then shouts that I'm trying to knock her off the back.

Can you buy anything that can make the bike seat less slippery?

I went to Wilkinsons & bought a roll of anti-slip matting, cut it to size & attached it to the pillion seat - cost less than £2 It's also great laid in the boot of the car too

The triboseat if i remember correctly is only for the pillion seats :-/

You could try halfords for a grippy boot liner and make your own one up [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

On the other hand, Martin's option seems as good yet a lot cheaper.

Try gripping the tank with your knees - you should use your legs to support yourself on the bike and leave your arms free to control everything at the bars rather than supporting and bracing your bodyweight...
Stomp Grips help with getting a grip on the tank - check them out

No, it's pretty benign to leathers, it's soft rubbery pimples really, nothing too bad

I've got Stomp Grips on my SV as I was sliding forward under breaking, they worked fine, but a week later I changed from textile trousers to leather and this was even better.

On the negative side, I have had to get used to changing gear again as I can't slide my knee up the tank anymore, although as with most things I'm used to this now.
