I am amazed more so that the oncoming traffic didn't move out the way once, not one of the cars coming toward him when he was on the double white lines moved over.

Perhaps that's the secret, the driving/riding is so bad over there they are used to it. Over here they would be piling into each other, flashing lights, blaring horns shaking fists...
