cheers guys, as far as insurance taking a while goes, they have asked the police numerous times for the third parties details but they seem to be witholding it seems, unsure why!

Rich, contact the officer(s) direct. As the accident involved an injury they should have recorded witness details in their notebooks.

Glad to hear you're on the mend Rich!It was about 3 months before I got back on the bike after I broke my wrist but it was nothing like as bad as your break!
