Hi all, The hubby and me are planning a bike trip first week of September, to go round the coast from Lyme Regis, down, then back up to Mortehoe for the last night. 7 nights in total. We did it for our honeymoon last year, the other way round, on one bike (that was my final straw to learn to ride), and in B&B's, but this year, will go on both sometimes working bikes...... Finances are such that we will be taking a tent and minimum camping gear this time. Can anyone recommend any reasonable camp sites that may be en route? also, have to try and bodge luggage carrying on the ZX4, thinking soft panniers - a tank bag up front that would have to be bungeed or something up front due to plastic cover.... Any tips or advice or recommendations would be welcomed!! Thank you

    Hey Sue,

There's a really good campsite at Dartmouth called little cotton. It's right next to the park and ride so access into Dartmouth is easy and one of the best Indian restaurants called spice bazaar.

When you get to Mortehoe, I can also recomend Sandleigh tea rooms in Croyde.

Hope you have a good trip.

If you are heading along the coast near Dartmouth past Slapton Sands (well worth it - a really pretty road) and want cheap and cheerful/clean and basic this is a great site -

    I went there last year.

Nice to meet you both at the H&C last week.

I would recommend Warcombe Farm campsite near Woolacombe; easily the BEST campsite I've ever been to, and whilst you're there, The Thatch at Croyde is a fabulous pub with great food and music at weekends.

If you're doing the whole coast of Cornwall, the campsite at Treen is a hidden gem, and it's just a ten minute walk along the clifftops to the Minack Theatre.

    Have a great trip!

What's it called? We've got the first 3 nites sorted now, were hoping to camp near Penzance/Marazion on night 4 but the only sites we've found are minimum of 3 nites!! This one sounds good!
Thanks! It could be a lifesaver!!

The Cornish site is Treen Farm Campsite at St Buryan near Porthcurno. Unfortunately you can't reserve a pitch but as you're going out of high season should hopefully be ok. Check out Trip Advisor, they give it the thumbs up too 8-)
