If you pass your Mod 1 & 2 on a 125, and if after a year of riding a bigger restricted bike, you then feel more confident, can you then take your Test again on a 500 so that the restriction is lifted?

you can indeed
yes you can, but imho you may as well slog it out another year and then put the money would would have spent redoing your test toward your shiney new bike :]
Thats just me though :3
You have to wait a year I believe, but you can re-take on a 500.
TBH, I'd either take your test on a 500 or wait the two years until the 33bhp restriction is lifted.
As long as you're over 21 you can retake your test on the bigger bike as soon as you want. It's called Accelerated Access, but to be honest, you won't be dissappointed with a restricted bike. They're not that slow.
I'm glad I took my test back in 1981
All you did back then was ride off on your 250cc while the examiner walked around the route 8-)
When you saw him you got ready for your emergency stop, then he asked you a few highway code questions and that was it job done.
But saying that it at least nowadays people have some sort of idea what they are doing. Back then on his/her 17th birthday any lunatic could buy themselves a RD250LC and wizz off to an early grave
True. On an airfield I saw an indicated 100mph on the Sv when it was restricted.... and the acceleraion wasn't to badly affected either.Originally Posted by Mark_Able

Thats good then...maybe I wont bother ...as I don't want to go that fast, but would like to have more power than the 125 when (and hopefully) I pass my Mod 1 & 2
