    To save a fortune on gasket sets could I get this instead?

    Never even heard of the gel!

    Trying to save money in this way could end in tears and a lot more work in the long run? :

    Im guessing that you are not 100% on if its affective and reliable then?

    Gasket set for my thundercat is £120!

    Use the gaskets.

    The bike has been toleranced with the gaskets.

    Use the right gasket for the job. I only use sealant where its specified by the manufacturer and its usually in conjunction with a gasket anyway.

    GEAR, 3RD PINION (22T) £146 ..
    GEAR, 4TH WHEEL (28T) £90
    Starter crankcase gasket £7.60
    Clutch crankcase gasket £12.20
    Cyclinder Gasket £14.10
    Headcover gasket is still looking good.
    Cylinder head gasket £37.30
    Water pump gasket £0.60
    Sump Gasket £11.50
    Total £320.81 posted

    Oil filter £6
    Spark plugs £22.50
    Oil 4litres 10/40 £25
    Coolant 3litres £21
    Total £74.50


    Cant find the gasket for the main crankcase, if there is one?

    Surly you can look for cheaper sets than from origonal yamaha? and i do see what your saying its nearly half the price of what the bikes worth to rebuild.

    havnt found any other gaskets! Will have to buy the individual ones, comes at about £70 total, ordered the replacemnt transmission from USA, old fz600 transmission appears in good nick.

    have a look on wemoto, they usually carry a lot of pattern spares etc
