Ive been looking around for another bike , just for a bit of variety really, looking at a ktm supermoto type, there's one which looks good, but the only thing is the mileage, 28k on a 04 plate, still only around 3.5k a year i suppose, would this put anyone off? or is it not really worth worrying about. The price does seem to reflect this plus its reasonably local, cheers wes

problem I have with exotica, Aprilia RSV, KTM, Husqvarna are the service intervals, bit like the early Ducati. also the price of spare parts both new and used.

Plus 1 mileage would have to offset by the price.

    What is the actual bike?

A lot of the supermoto's are single cylinder and whilst capable of clocking high mileage they do require lots of maintanance to get them there and keep them going.
My first Supermoto was a KTM620 that required oil and filter changes after every 8 hours of use.
The newer 690's are a bit more forgiving on the service requirements.

The other downside is the distance you can go on a tank of fuel - it was less than 50 miles on mine

    But

For the amount of laughs/grins a supermoto bike will put on your face it's well worth putting up with the maintanance and fuel stops

not show sure, i get a big enough grin now with 3,000 mile intervals and 182 miles on a full tank

if most bikes can manage 40,000 miles but this supermoto needs intense servicing would 20,000 miles be considered nearly 'end of life' for the bike?
