since I've got a new job in Swindon my weekly commute is upwards of 300 miles which is proving to be more of a slog than it should be on my mighty 26 horsepower steed

I'm wondering whether it would be worth my while getting a bigger bike (when I'd have to restrict it anyways) so that the faster roads won't need me to give it full beans all of the time

I've only had the bike a few months and I'd always planned on keeping it for my restriction period but I'm left wondering if the grass is greener if I get a "proper" bike. not having ridden a restricted bike I have no idea if it's going to make much difference at all :-/

can any of you kind and knowledgeable folk offer any suggestions?

Im sure your bike would still outperform 99 per cent of riders on the road.

A bigger bike will probably be more comfortable than the 250, however it will cost more in fuel, insurance, tax, etc...

TBH if your keeping up with traffic on the 250 (even my superdreams could manage that!!!!) I'd stick with it and wait until the restriction comes off.

You'll always want a bigger bike.
My 600 is stupidly fast but to me it seems slow :-/
