Why not. Looks fun. Though £3k is a bit steep for me. You could get a 250 brit bike for that....

Hmm I'm surprised they've allowed that front number plate, those fin style ones were stopped for elf & safety I thought

Yup, the requirement for the old "bacon slicer" front number plates was dropped in the early 70s...

    Don't get it at all.
It's like trying to buy your way into an exclusive club.
If you want a classic, buy a classic.

. Just don't expect to set any modern records on it — with a maximum speed of 55, it's more suited for urban streets than wide-open road.

55 on urban streets!!! optomistic and illegal?

I think the plate is for show..... however

The website is US, and I suspect there's no rule over there on front plates.

It would be illegal on a new bike in this country. The requirement for a front plate was dropped in 1975 because of the risk to pedestrians but it was optional. A bike made after the 2001 change in registration plates (51 -) cannot carry a front number plate.

If you want to be really pedantic the plate is black and white which would be illegal on any bike made after 1 September 1974 and the writing is the wrong size and wrong font.

    :P

I am sure you could pick a classic in fair condition for that kind of cash, a quick trawl of the sales websites can often reveal a few cheaply priced gems.

I would rather buy a real one than a remake.
