There was a regular meet there but the NIMBYs bleated to the council and the landlord was told that "regular" meets i.e. any kind of organised gatherings had to stop. That doesn't mean that any group of like-minded individuals can't congregate there purely by coincidence (if you catch my drift), but don't make a habit out of it, such as the same time every week.

To be honest, some of the punters who used to frequent the pub were probably as much to blame as the NIMBYs; loud pipes, leaving the pub like they were on the first lap of a race, wheelies, behaviour guaranteed not to endear them to anyone nearby. The plod often had a speed camera van on the corner by the pub (looking towards Wroughton), it'd be interesting to learn how many people they nicked, and how many of them were on bikes... :-?
