If your bike has broken down and you are stranded at the side of the road, the absolutely last thing you need is a total noob like me stopping to make things worse...
Mind you, perhaps I should...
I passed my Mod 2 on Tuesday. Hurrah!! It has taken me until today to remember my password to post the good news here. :s Only 2 minors; both for stalling before I had even got out of the carpark....
I'm 5' 10". Would you be able to stoop a little...?
Would you be prepared to dress as a traditionally built woman of a certain age and take the test for me...?
It's the pulling away and hill start wot did for me. The nerves go straight to my hands and turn them into jellyfish on crack.
I shall lobby for the introduction of the hill stop. I would pass...
Thanks everyone. Am not giving up. Need to save the monies for another test. And that's a really kind offer Conehead, but I dont have a 125 any more, I sold it to pay for the das and 650. :-(
Well, I took the test again last week and failed again. It's still nerves. I can ride fine when I'm not being tested. Gutted :-(
Thanks for your welcomes everyone. :)
Vulcanboy, I'm a girlie and my name is not Simon. This does not make me feel any less welcome however....
Thanks everyone. :-) I failed. Gutted. It was nerves. I completely effed up my hill start and most of my pulls away were sponsered by Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. Never been an issue before. ...
...unfortunately, I used all the gaffa tape up on mending my glasses... :p
And thanks for your comments everyone. I feel so much less alone. :) I'll report back on Mod2 after the event, if...

Hurrah and congratulations on your mod2! :) I'm really jealous. Mine's next Friday and I'm terrified....
I'm doing it with MOTAG. They've been brilliant. I have had stamina problems after an illness so they lengthened the days but built in lots of breaks. Am on first name terms with every butty wagon...
The date of Mod 2 is a closely guarded secret, just in case the cat is a lurker on this forum and decides to go in for a repeat performance...
Best of luck for today. :-)
Hello, I thought I'd share my mod1 experiences with you, if only to make you feel better about your own riding ability...
On the day I took my mod 1, I woke up to find the bloody cat had vomited...
I would prefer a lovely examiner....
Perversely, I'm far more worried about mod 2. :-(
Thank you. :) I have an NTV650 straining at the leash, just got to pass...
@napalm: mod1 is the most fiendish torture known to mankind. Had its use been permitted in WWII, it would have shortened the conflict by at least 3 years.... Mod2 is a bimble around Salisbury,...
Thanks everyone, :). It's the school bike, not mine, so I can't really fiddle around with it, but I did notice the vibration issue between 4 and 5k revs. And napalm, thanks for your congrats, but...
Hello,
I have just done my Das on a Divvy XJ600. On my old 125 I could bimble about for hours, but a few days of instruction on the bigger bike and my wrists really hurt. I think this is just...
I would sell the YBR for as much as you can get for it and then buy something like the divvy for about half the proceeds of the YBR sale. People are saying that after a while you will want something...
Ooh. Did someone mention cake....??
