XR1000 are great helmets, fairly quiet and weigh only 1300-1400 grams. Lots of helmets weight approx 1550 grams.

You are right about the helmet being fairing breezy...only notice in the winter...

Shoei's are light, strong and quiet helmets....I seem to recall the Raid 2 is especially quiet. What you need to find are some smaller ear plugs as girls have smaller ear holes...a few of my ex's had...
