    Re: Tyres.

My R1 needs new boots, planning on paying Carsons a visit this week to get a price. I'll probably take in loose wheels though to save a few quid :)

Replacement brake calipers - where from?

    Morning guys,

I'm currently assisting a neighbour as he wants to get into bikes. We bought an old non-running T plate GS500E for pennies and I've got it running beautifully, have stripped, cleaned...

How do you get water in the oil on an AIR cooled bike?!

Re: Is it ok to mix tyres front and back?

6k!!!! A friend had BT014s on his ZX6R and didn't get great tyre life - he switched to BT020s in the end.

I've never had more than 2 - 2.5k miles out of a rear :( That was on a ZX7R though, which...
  9. Re: Timing retard Eliminators.....your experiences

I had one on my TLR. When I took it off to sell the bike, it felt a bit slower.

I had the Nikko G Pack, which is the expensive, clever, one.

    Re: on bike cameras

My SD cam is an MXJVC (JVC clone from the canary islands - my daft parents bought it) worth about £50. Just look on ebay and you'll find SD cameras for about £50 easily.

Furry - if you join us...

Dabz is the man in charge. I'm always up for a blast, going to Poole Quay tonight which should be fun.

    Re: on bike cameras

I've got a cheapo SD camera and £5 HAMA suction mount. Works ok but id like to have a bullet cam as if I get caught with a camera on the tank, the Police will have all the evidence they need to...

    Re: Front End Grip

Yup, mine did the same but I took a slightly different approach - I took it back after only 3 months and rode away on an R1 instead ;) To be fair, the TLR isn't a bad road bike, it's just if you want...

    Re: Front End Grip

Get someone who has more skill to ride it and see what they think - its probably just your confidence. If you're in the Salisbury area i'm happy to take it round a few bends to see how it feels if it...

    Re: Ninja-Richie in hospital

GWS Richie, really saddened to hear that you'd lobbed it. Hope you mend quick, and, much LESS importantly, hope the bike isn't too badly mashed. I know from my off (though much less serious), the...

Re: Where to go for tyres

Well there's Protyre in Westbury but I always go to Micheldever Tyres in Micheldever. They're the cheapest place i've found, and do a ride in, ride out fitting service. It's sounds like a long way...

Check it for crash damage - it's unlikely anything particularly bad could have gone awry in 1600 miles without it going down the road! Check all parts that could touch down in the event of a crash...

Re: I've bought a new bike!

LOL. I owned my ZX7R for two years, but TLR really was an evil handling piece of crap! I've wanted an R1 since they released it in '98 - I was a 19yo college student at the time and my friends and I...

    I've bought a new bike!

Well, after two months of TL1000R ownership, including one trackday, I came to the conclusion that a V twin with a bad attitude and 'interesting' handling really was not for me. So, I went back to...
