Just wondering if anyone else is suffering with me :P started about 11 days ago with a sore throat, then I quickly lost my voice, then got sniffles, all the while with my throat still killing me...now it's a horrible cough, constant headaches and tiredness, runny nose, the lot! Been dosing up on cold&flu capsules, ibuprofen, lemsip, you name it, but nothing is doing any good :(
i've been man-down for a week or so now.
i find copious amounts of alcohol helps...........all medicinal you know

I got it too…. Into the third week now, seems to get worse at night with the coughing .
Dabz,the only solution for the flu is rest mate........ :( :'(
I've started on my nice new lot of 6X tonight to see if this alcohol thing works...couging's been awful today :( had enough of this now - was hoping to be back to normal ready to get out on the bike on saturday!
alcohol may not cure the flu but it sure will make u feel better
Dependable Cold/Flu cure:-
1 Lemon (the fruit Not the sufferer!)
Honey (NOT YOU, sweetie)
Scotch Whiskey! (See there HAD to be a DECENT ingredient)
Hot water
Get a mug (NO, NOT YOU, ya pillock!) put in thje juice of a freshly squeezed lemon (Ooh ! That tickled!) - Did you know if you roll & press a lemon on a hard surface BEFORE cutting it, it will give you more juice!! Add a couple of Teaspoons of Honey and a LARGE (medicinal!) measure of Whiskey and top up with freshly boiled water. Drink the concoction whilst wrapped up warm in front of the fire watching TV (or what ever) Repeat every hour or so.
What happens is:-
The Lemon boosts the Vitimin C content in your body.
The Honey sweetens the lemon and is good for sore throats.
The Whiskey, raises the body temperature burning off the viruses, and increases the body metabolism so the vitimin C can work on the viruses/boost your immune system. It also gets you p*ssed so you feel better by making you forget your aches & pains (bit of a b*gger if you get a hangover) but psycologically its very beneficial!

:( No the feelin mate, I had it and it left me with a really bad cough which turned to a chest infection :'(
Doc gave me some anti biotics, thoes and guinness soon got me well ;D
