You may already be aware of the wonders of white vinegar , but if not , it's great for de-rusting and restoring untreated carbon steel .
These 11 year old , 60,000 mile rear sprocket nuts were soaked in white distilled vinegar overnight , a quick scrub with a brass wire brush to remove any residue and they're now like new .
