Oh your such a sweetheart, thanx for the hug. and cheers for the comment tim.

It was a top ride out actually as it was the first time I had ridden in releative anger since the sussie upgrades and it was riding like a dream. Ah well not much you can do about this.

That pic was taken at about nine in the morning the day after once it had been dispersed by cars. I hit it at about 15mph at 10pm in the dark right behind a car. It was the full width of the road and a bout an inch and a half deep.

I've phoned the bussies (Police) to no avail, next is the council. Unless I know exactly who the farmer bastard is I ve no chance of any claim.

So farmers watch out I'm on the hunt for any excuse to take condeming photoes or just an excuse to kick the **** out of them and beleive you me I am the very man for the job. I must say a couple of fellow bikers helped mr out and thet told me who they were but what with the adrenaline etc I ant remember there names. But big thanx to them both, I cant remember if they said they were affiliated with this site or the other with the simelar name or not. If I get any joy and need witnesses I 'am sure you will let youself be known .

and once again thanx guys its good just to have someone to talk to at time s like that.

Looks like the bike got off lightly even at the low speed you was doing the damage could have been far worse.

Likely to be a farmer in the area...theres no excuse for that...find em...take em to court and fleece em!

Yeh it is mate but it was late and actually I was more raging than embarressed. I f I had crashed for being a numpty I would have been embarressed, I was more raging about the fact that a farmer is allowed to compromise the grip on a tight bend with no reprocutions unless cought in the act by a copper. Now I've got to pick up the bill for his neglegence. remember I was doing about 15 mph and couldn't see ahead in the dark as there was a car in front of me and I was on the **** before I knew it. I forsee a few slashed tractor tyres and suger and the deisle tanks locall to avebury, costing thousands to repair.

Christ from those pics Steev i reckon not many would have stayed upright the bloody stuff is all over the place!!
Summit that occured to me last night tho, can't the Highways Agency do summit?/be responsible Isn't it their job to maintain the roads etc etc and for such a large amount surely a car tyre at the wrong angle would go skidding off. They should do summit they would if it was a diesel spill ie send bods out to mop up etc. Also with it being at Avebury and lots of bikes/traffic going past there they would be contributing to a hazzard and as such motorcycle accidents on the whole summit Wiltshire County Council is very touchy about.

Not Highways Agency - A4361 is a County road

and the County can only act if someone tells them about the problem. Did it get reported the same night Steeve came off? Bit late reporting it the following day - the problem could have gone by then, or someone could have been killed because everyone thought someone was doing something but no-one actually did...

I Passed it yesterday it's on the bend going away from avebury to devizes/A4 roundabout...most of it gone...

However, from Avebury to Swindon...where you do a sweeping right and then come to a sharp left bend....on that sweeping right there is mud everywhere from the field next to it!

Time to start sending letters to MP's me thinks!

Ghost

Report it to the Council first - Wiltshire even give you a freefone number 0800 23 23 23 for all faults on the highways. Don't dial it from your mobile as it won't work, that is a different number that I cant recall at present but there are signs posted up around the County.

Report stuff/moan to your MP by all means and yes it makes the LA's jump when they get an MP letter - but just remember - while your letter of complaint is winging its way to him and he takes a few days to respond, time is passing out there on the road and any fault is still a hazard. Once a fault has been reported to the Council should anyone else have an accident and the Council haven't acted....
