...sad news to hear that Gary Moore has died, aged 58.
A great blues player,he will be missed! RIP

The 58-year-old, originally from Belfast, was found dead in a hotel room on the Costa del Sol in the early hours of Sunday.

Thin Lizzy founding member Brian Downey said he was stunned by the news.

"I am in total shock," he said. "He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I just can't believe he is gone."

After his time with the Irish rock band, Moore went on to forge a successful solo career and was still actively touring.

His death was confirmed with a poignant message on the star's official website "It is with deep sorrow and regret, that we have to announce that Gary Moore passed away while on holiday in Spain last night,"

Absolutely gutted when I heard this - one of my fav guitarists of all time. I've seen him live a load of times, and his style influenced my own playing more than any other guitarist

This is time for my tenuous claim to fame!!

When I was at college in Plymouth Gary Moore was going out with the sister of one of my classmates whose dad managed Grimsby Town. When he told us this nobody believed him but it was all true.

Very sad news. :'(
Don't think we'll see talent like his again for a very long time, if at all.

For those needing a guitar god fix, try Joe bonamassa - he's as good as Gary Moore especially live (have seen both artists live a lot) and so,e excellent skills

I've seen GM a few times and he was excellent live. A rare talent. He put his soul into his music and he will be missed :(
His music however will live on. :)
