Saw a BMW scooter at the NEC, had Rider and pillion heated seats, heated grips and plugs for heated clothing.... madness......

I'm all for heated grips and heated gear - makes the difference between an enjoyable ride and a painfull one :)

You don't have to use them - they come with ON/OFF capability. Don't forget that your concentration abilities decrease when you are cold and shivering.

£53.50 sounds quite expensive.
You can also get these for cars, haven't looked but they are probably cheaper
